 Chairman - Carol Pike

Ron and I purchased our first cat, a seal point Siamese male in 1972, who was soon joined by a female and then a chocolate point, who we took to the National in 1975. At the National we also purchased our first Birman, a blue Point fondly known as Welly.
From hence forward we were hooked on Birmans. Our first litter was born in 1977 and we have owned studs since 1980. Already qualifying as show managers by managing several Siamese shows we managed the first Birman Show in 1979 taking through to Championship status.
In the early years I was a delegate to GCCF and also sat on the Long Haired Joint Advisory Committee, I also sat on several committees including the Birman Cat Club. I served on the Birman Cat Club Committee for about 20 years being their Chairman for many of these. Ron and I managed many shows including the Croydon Cat Club, the Southern Counties Cat Club, section Managers at the Hertfordshire and Middlesex Cat Club when it was at Alexandra Palace, the Seal Point Siamese Cat Club, The Capital Long Hair Cat Association, The Long Haired and Semi Long Haired Cat Club. Our greatest honour was to be asked to show manage the National Cat Club show which we were pleased to accept and have managed that for the last 6 years along with the help of many birman friends.
In 1999 we felt that the original colours the Seal and Blue Point were loosing their status and after speaking to several friends, breeders and exhibitors with the support of many - The Seal and Blue Point Birman Cat Club was founded.
